Asimovs New Gui Science 1993 Isaac Asimov 18 Download Book Rar Free Mobi

The New Guide to Science is a popular science book written by Isaac Asimov. The first sketches of it were published in the "San Francisco Examiner" in late October, 1988. During the next year, Asimov wrote ten articles for "Discover Magazine" on topics ranging from astronomy to molecular biology. For each topic he aimed at providing an accurate and comprehensible account of what was known about that particular field. Asimov was not an expert in all fields covered by the Guide, so he enlisted scientists for help while writing it. He also tried to make it interesting reading by telling anecdotes and letting scientists describe their own work in their own words where possible. He made sure that his own explanations and examples would be clear to readers who might not have a scientific background, and he also made sure that the descriptions of scientific concepts were not too complicated. Asimov's New Guide to Science was first published in April 1993 by the W. W. Norton Company as a large format paperback book, which sold well enough to remain in print to the present day. An electronic text was made available by Project Gutenberg during 1996 and again from 2001 through 2012, making this one of the most popular science books ever published. The text was made freely available online on the Netlibrary website on August 9, 1996, by Diltz Press under a US-style copyright license. In the years since the publication of the book, a number of comments have appeared about it. In a review published in 1994, John Brockman, editor of the "Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences" wrote that this book is Jane O'Grady writing in Times Higher Education Supplement during 1995 remarked that Asimov's approach was often refreshingly down-to-earth and his explanations were both accessible and jargon-free. In 1996, Adam Rogers, writing in "Wired" magazine remarked that "In a world where only Isaac Asimov could write an encyclopedic tome on science and be sure to keep it readable and interesting". Asimov's New Guide to Science is also available as an e-Text.
